Physical Education
K-8 students participate in PE classes taught twice weekly by Rhythm and Moves. Rhythm and Moves provides experienced instructors and a quality curriculum to over 160 schools in the Bay Area. The activities and games are grade appropriate and follow the State Standards for this subject.
At the elementary level, the physical education program concentrates on providing successfull situations through movement, so that the children will learn the fundamentals of movement and develop a liking for physical activity.
At the Jr. High level, students are moving from concrete to abstract thinking. Instructional strategies and curricular content are directed toward health and the individual interests of the students, allowing them to draw their own conclusions as they discover the best way to become and stay healthy.
An annual tradition, all grades participate in an exhilarating, active and co-operative Field Day showcasing skills learned over the year culminating in a faculty vs. the eigth grade game in the team sport of their choice.
