Look what we did in Kindergarten this week:
Math: compared weight and height to a reference object. We discussed how height and weight are alike and different
Religion: explained that saints show us ways to love God and live as friends of Jesus, explained that the Holy Spirit helps us live as children of God, explained Jesus’ promise about the Holy Spirit
Science: observed and explored objects in the daytime sky
Handwriting: practiced the letter Ww
Language Arts: identified the letter-sound relationships for letter Ww, listened and responded to literature, wrote leprechaun stories, responded to writing prompts in our journals and practiced for the 3 Piggy Opera.
Social Studies: put events in temporal order using a calendar, placing days, weeks and months in proper order
Learning Centers: We made shamrocks in the art center, practiced forming our spelling words in the computer center, used our imaginations in dramatic play, and listened to stories in the listening center.
Next Week, will be K week. Please remember Kk sharing on Wednesday, March 17th.
GRANDPARENT’S DAY: Please remember Grandparent’s Day on Wednesday, March 17th. If your child will not have a Grandparent or special friend attending, please write me a note so I can pair them with another kindergartener. Thanks!
THREE PIGGY OPERA UPDATE:
HELP! Please continue to help your child to memorize their speaking parts. There are still many children who do not know their speaking part and whom they come after. Thank you!
We need parent volunteers for the night of the production. Please see the attached sheet.
REMINDER: Please do not wait in the hallway outside the Kindergarten classroom at dismissal time. Kindergartners must be picked up at the benches under the kindergarten classroom. This makes it much easier for me to see that each of the children are going home with the appropriate parties. Thank you for helping me with this matter.
